Put your hand on a hot stove for a minute, and it seems like an hour. Sit with a pretty girl for an hour, and it seems like a minute. THAT'S relativity. Albert Einstein

That is where the x80 would have helped

Every now and then we are put into situations that test our moral character. Sometimes choosing to do what is right, is not always the easiest thing to do. Surrounding yourself with friends that hold you accountable for your actions can help guide your moral compass. Or the lack of makes it easierto be more self serving and selfish.
Recently, I had the oppurtunity to witness a friend face an enormous temptation....
Myself and two friends were on a ski trip that included the unique experience of dealer demo privledges. We were able to ride our choice of any 2011 products. We were issued colored cards that we used to demo product. Pink for board/ski, yellow for boot/binding and blue for accessories. Myself, I enjoyed the Arbor Wasteland 155 with Flow NXT-AT bindings the most (well over $1000 set up). Justin liked the Gnu board and bindings while Shaun rode the Flow Infinate / NXT set up. We also were able to demo helmets and goggles. Near the end of our stay and returning our equipment, the rep for Smith asked Justin and I how we liked the helmet and goggles. Then said, you can just keep them. Shaun still had his helmet and goggles on his head from Giro. Shaun was able to use the helmet and goggles without giving them his card. He could just walk away and they would have no record of it.What would you do? Your friends just scored $100 worth of equipment each. You have the same in your hands, it is all a matter of do I return it or not return it? I am proud to say that Shaun did the right thing. He walked away empty handed and did not regret his decision.
The very next day I was able to use his shing example of resisting temptation in my Wednesday night youth class at church. I explained that throughout your life, temptation is going to present itself and at times we may falter. As I reflect back and try to analyze our decision making process, I wonder, what were the deciding factors that made him do the right thing? Was it the fact that his two friends were there holding him accountable? What if Justin & I had encouraged him to just take them? What if he were by himself? Are his moral values so strong that he would have done the right thing no matter what? Would I have made the same decision?
There are a lot of factors that help shape our moral character, parents, family, friends, economics and spiritual beliefs.( I am certain there are more). Hats off to my friend, that happens to have the right mix of influences to resist such a powerful temptation and give me a real life experience to share with others.Originally posted by G-MONEYIt hurts me to say it but go OU but only for this weekend!!!!

Dom - I really don't have anything better to add to what the others have already said. But, I just wanted to wish you luck and strength in dealing with your situation. It will be hard, but eventually things will hopefully work out for the best.
It's rough, not going to lie. It gets a bit better everyday, and talking to people helps, whether it's in real time or on here... You guys are the best. I still have my banner and it's now hanging in my garage. I see it everytime I pull in.Originally posted by G-MONEYIt hurts me to say it but go OU but only for this weekend!!!!
