If the manual for the MP340 says max RPM's at 4600 but the boat will go past is that bad for the motor? I never need that much but curious.

So, I just got my union dues refund for the year. It was a nice unexpected surprise. Well expected just forgotten about.
(I have to send them a CERTIFIED letter every year that I object to the partisan political portion of my dues - if it's not certified it magically gets lost in the mail)
So should I buy the surf edition GoPro Hero2 with the wifi pack, or should I put that money towards a proper Canon 7D?

Oops 4900 at 5400'

I'm going with elevation as well. Looks like Lake Coeur d'Alene is at 2,125'. What's your home lake's elevation? You do not need to reprop with the 340hp engine if you are under 6,000', it still has plenty of power. The 4,500 rpm seems a little low to me though which also indicates that you may have something else going on. I can get 4,900 out of my RZ2 with the Acme 537 at 5,400'.

I've just never needed it. You would think it it wasn't safe it would have a redline and the tach would not go to 6k
