Actually, I'm pretty sure the tab is to release the brakes if the safety cable is pulled.

Doesn't the safety cable just engage the brakes? I thought the tab releases brake system pressure, so, yes, it would also be used if your safety cable gets pulled.

But, I am usually wrong.

You know, I don't know if you are joking or not. But I actually do like the idea of separate bags like that. Soda in one for the kids. Beer in two of them for me and one more for my wife's drinks. Or she can share the kid's.

I was only partially joking. It really isn't too bad an idea.

I'm not sure how the safety cable applies the brakes but we once pulled the cable by hand to engage them, and nothing happened. I'm assuming we didn't pull it far enough. But in order to retract the cable we had to push the button on the bottom.

I've never tried to roll the tongue around on our trailer. And I never plan to. I think our trailer jack wheel would probably snap right off.

I would upgrade to the Fulton F2, but I'm too cheap since our boat hangs out on the lift in the summer.

It scares the crap out of me too, I always lower the jack all the way down before I do it, It seems to be a bit more stable that way.
