Just for chits and giggles, I tried to price my boat on NADA. I couldn't find anywhere that hours are taken into consideration. Is that not figured on NADA, or was I just in the wrong area of their site?
I feel like hours are over rated. I'm advertising my boat with 800 hours on it. That guy that came to look at it yesterday went on about 800 and I finally sat down and said
"Look, if this were a 1999 vehicle, how many miles would you consider 'high mileage'?" and he said probably over 100k.
I said, if I AVERAGED 50MPH in a car, 800 hours would be equivalent to 40,000 miles. Hows that for a 13 year old car?
I agree that hours are over emphasized, and I would rather buy a high hour boat that was maintained than a low hour one that was neglected. However, the general public perception is that hours make a huge difference in the value. Since that generally the perception, I was just curious if that is figured into the NADA calcs.
Not that it really matters, since we have no plans to sell our boat anytime soon.
Amazing that even an X2 vs RZR thread devolves into Ford vs Toyota
never saw that one coming
