          Once you get any ballast at all for surfing, the bigger wave doesn't make you a better rider...at least it didn't make me one. LOL! Everyone is always so concerned about how big there wave is...just go out and surf!

                    It doesn't MAKE you a better rider. But it sure enables you to do better tricks.

                    I know it's a short wave, I needed maybe one more person up in the bow, but this is my cousin and he's 6'0 tall...

                          I learned how to free ride with 0 ballast, just my buddy sitting in the corner. Then we progressed to 2 5 gallon buckets filled with water and then v-drive sacs and then stacking 2 of them in the corner and then finally a surf sac.
