That was what I thought, for me it is best to check.
If the head-unit has it, like your Clarion CMD, I like t use the purple non-fade RCA. But you will need to turn up the sensitivity.

The distance from ground to prop is 15"
The distance from ground to fae pipe is 19"
According to the install instructions says the difference should be 1.5-2.5"
My difference is 4"
The taps plate is completely clear at this point.
Half, I am in the process of installing an FAE and just measured mine. I have 15" to the center of the prop and 17" to the tip of the FAE. To get the exhaust in the most vertical position, I only put the horizontal(elbow shaped) tubes into the rubber sleeve as far as they needed to go to engage 2 clamps. If you bottom the horizontal elbow into the tube that is fixed to the boat exhaust, the T-section will need to be rotated off vertical to clear TAPS.
