I agree with Chp in the plugs / wires - 1 bad plug will mess up the engine under load.

I had an F-150 that liked to mis-fire. I had a $40 OBD-II code reader from Harbor Freight that would tell me which cylinder was bad.

There were some big rust stains on my driveway when I got this house - definitely know about anything with Iron. I used a toilet bowl cleaner called "the works" and it cleaned it right off. That stuff is strong -
