I wanted the 3.73 gears so we had to get the tow package. The wife wanted the chrome pkg so we got the standard mirrors to get those. I think they are fine and I haul the cougar with them.
I wanted the Tranny cooler and trailer brake control also, not sure if we had to get the tow pkg for that.

I'm still trying to figure out what the max tow package gives you because it looks like you get the big mirrors and a brake controller. On the FX4's I have been looking at, they all have 3.73 and then an add on brake controller and a regular tow package.

I'm still trying to figure out what the max tow package gives you because it looks like you get the big mirrors and a brake controller. On the FX4's I have been looking at, they all have 3.73 and then an add on brake controller and a regular tow package.

Ithink the only difference is maybe the Bumper, Mirrors, and Brake Controller. The bumper does not matter because we all use the receiver. They used to be a spring upgrade but I do not think so anymore.

Isn't it only a $500 package?

Yeah, it's $550 or something for the whole package or $230 for just the brake controller. Most of the dealers are ordering them with the controller.
