So the Moomba thread is turning into a valid discussion but what I have gotten out of it is that the "weekend warrior" doesn't live close enough to the water to justify the limited use he would get out of a more expensive boat. This is the reason I choose to live 30min drive from work, so I'm closer to the lakes.

I live 60 miles from the lake and pay $1,260 a year to use it. If you own a boat, you better use it!
Private lake dues? Storage? What's the 1200 bucks for?
Private lake dues. The public lakes in CO are WAY too crowded on the weekends for my comfort level and the safety of my riders. I also pay $125 a month for storage during the winter. Man this is an expensive hobby...should have stuck to racing my Corvette on the weekends.
