I would like to try a deep fried one. I hear they are good but can cause a fire if not careful.
Ive been deep frying chit for a bout 12 years. Theres only 2 was to cause a fire. 1) over fill the pot so the oil over flows when the bird is lowered in. You have to keep in mind that the turkey displaces the oil, so it doesnt take as much as many would think. 2) keep the temp about 350F. Too hot and it will ignite. Too cool, and the bird with soak it up. I like to get the oil up to about 375-400 then lower the bird in. The temp will drop because of the cold meat. Once it stabilizes, back off the flame to keep it between 325 and 350.

One turkey and a Ham here tomorrow. I'm just using the oven for the bird and a crockpot for the ham. Mom has the day off she has done a bunch of them
Have you ever pressure-cooked a ham? DAMN its good! Rub it with brown sugar and stick on some pineapple slices.
