Too much oil info for my little brain to grasp. This winter I'm gonna probably just grab some oil of the designated weight from my engine manual.
Maybe in ten years my engine will blow up because it wasn't SF/SG rated, or it had too much/too little zinc, or whatever.
The manual is where the fun starts. You can't find the 40 wt. I could find the 30 wt but now I can't recall if it was the correct kind. Tige recommend something different then the manual and the dealer recommended something different then both of those.
It may also die because I don't fog it. Or change the third, hidden, super secret fuel filter.
I dunno. For some reason, I can just imagine that 90% of the boats just get cheap, bulk oil at the dealerships anyway that don't meet the fine print recommendations from the manufacturers. Hell, I honestly wonder if my dealer did a damn thing when I paid for an annual service. For all I know, it still has the original oil, filter, and impeller from the factory.
