This thing can replace a head unit if you want. The small brains "black box" is buried away some place dry and the little remote is mounted in any number of ways, including bar mount, surfacae mount, or flush mount.
You have several easy to push while moving big buttons. There is volume control, track control, and playlist control, as well as power on and off plus random. When you first fire it up you go into UI, (locked mode) and all control is there at your finger tips. If you like driving your music from your iPod or iPhone, hit the power button again, and it goes into unlocked mode. At that point volume stays at the remote but all track/playlist/album control goes to the Apple device.
It has a remote turn-on ouotput so you can use it in place of a head unit as I shared and use external amplifiers for more power.
