I checked out Snap-On's website. Initial investment is around $150K-$290K
That's a big variation, but at $150K that's about the cheapest I've ever seen a franchise of any kind! Sounds decent if the money is there.
What's a beginner with 2-3 months under his belt make?
    Waiting for another good one!

I hope to find out if I will be able to make enough to leave my current job today the person I am going with today just started 2-3 months ago.

I have been wrenching on BMW's since 2001 and wanted a carrier change but something still auto related.
Make sure you ride with a dealer that has been in business at least 5 years also.Take all three rides too.

That same article I read over 10 years ago was showing off some cool technology Mercedes has for their techs.
They were some glasses that overlay a schematic on the renta of your eyes. Not sure it was real or not. But the part that really caught my eye was back then, it claimed that techs were making north of $125k a year.

My last year at the dealer I was on track to break 100k that year. But that is not the case locally any more the economy tanked and even BMW cut warranty times. I still talk with a lot of the techs at the dealer and it sounds like I would have taken a big hit workin there any ways. I made more last year then my buddy that just graduated BMW school and is back at the dealer.

There's a ton of Mercedes dealerships out here in Calif.

So many stuck up soccer moms that want to tool around in those ugly damned SUVs that look boxier than a Scion toaster oven...

I am guessing that you are riding with a guy in UT? If you get in how many Snap On guys are there? I don't know but I wouldn't have thought that you would need more than one from Provo to Logan.
