I need to hire someone to reach that grease zerk on the rudder, or buy a 3' long 1/4" nipple
When I did mine I could not get much in it. It was tight and I do not know if any got in it. From the posts it seems that others are the same. It was tough to get to. It seems that every time I work on the boat I end up with tons of bruises and cuts.
On your steering I am trying to decide if I want to fill the tube with grease. Supposedly it stops the water from going up inside the cable.
I missed all the fun. I was installing my FAE having my own problems. I will keep them to myself. Except for the fact that my use to be easy put on and remove swim platform is tight now. I think I am going to have to modify it.
5 Hour install on the FAE by myself and I have no skill. It would have been quicker if I didn't have to cut so many parts and drill so many holes. Maybe it was because I do not have Snap On tools.
Now I need to go test it to see if it works as claimed.
I just can't bring myself to drop $500 on an FAE when I need a tower still, perfect pass, and more ballast....
Well I think I'm set on ballast now actually.
I was on the fence but decided to go ahead and do it. I am hoping that it will pay for itself by being able to have a conversation in the boat while it is going.
One thing that I have found interesting is people like to give two cents, help others spend money, yet they have not purchased the products that they are recommending.
I joined the site last year near the end of the season, everyone was getting bitchy because the weather was turning and they couldn't go out anymore...
Now it's the first beginning of the season for me and I see everyone getting bitchy because their chit is breaking down or they don't have their chit in order... LOL
Let's all take a long deep breath and swallow down some rum 'n coke...

I don't usually pipe up unless I have buyers goggles
