When tourists come out to the Rocky Mountains they think it is always sunshine and fine. It is bad when they head to the mountains in shorts with no preparation for weather change. A drop like that can happen at any time without notice.

Shirley and i went to the blue ridge parkway for our anniversary may 12th a couple of years back.We were wearing shorts and short sleeve shirts. It was upper 70's a storm rolled in over night and it was in the 30's the next morning. We won't go unprepared again.
If I wouldn't have moved I was going to join a sheriff posse that did search and rescue in the mountains on horse back.
I remember one time my brother and I were coming down from a trail ride in the mountains, there was a goofy guy so we decide to head back. We were just about down to the road that was then six miles out when we passed a single young lady dressed skimpy and asked were she was headed. She said oh I am going to go up and around this mountain and come down this other road. We told her that the trail did not do that. She didn't care. This was around the time when several young ladies were going out a lone and disappearing. We thought that was kind of dumb but you can't tell some people. I wanted to ride a lot more than I did but I would never go alone.
