I just bought my wife a 2011 VW Jetta with the TDI and it gets 48MPG!

Me too, I've started looking for one since Snowboarding season started this past winter. Pain getting warm clothes up the hill when it's snowing on them in the bed of the truck. I think a Leer would look sick on my truck too...

It shouldn't. These days you can pick a damn truck in the color you like. They are all the same really.

I will say wiched is correct with his thoughts of the transmission. However, I wouldn't call them junk by any means. At 100,000 miles is a good idea to make sure that you check it out on the 7.3L diesels. However, I have heard that some go out and some don't. It's a hit and miss kind of thing.

More important than the mileage put on the truck is how the transmission was used during those miles.

Compare that era ford tranny to that era Dodge tranny.

Today, I'm really not sure who has the stronger tranny, but I really love the one I have in my '08 because it does everything I need it to do and I don't task it to do more than the manf. RATED it for.
