Benj hasn't played in several years. My youngest Andrew plays now and loves it. He's 13 and in the 7th grade....
My 12 year old is going into 7th grade next year and his school (a small Christian school) doesn't have football...too small. I was hoping he could play at the local public school but just found out he can't...he would have to transfer... This will more than likely end his football career. Stinks...I played through college...l LOVE football.

That does stink! It's awesome you played college ball!!!
Andrew tried playing rec ball a couple year back and asthma took him out in August practices. He went out last fall for the middle school team and ended up starting both ways.

That's great that he started both ways...especially with asthma...iron-man football I only played division 3, so it was nothing special...fun though!
My boys have been playing in the local rec leagues for the past 4 years or so, but I knew this day would come for my oldest. Their school will be starting football in enough time for my younger two, but my oldest will miss it.

Maybe something will work out for him.....It's got to be tough.

I think it's tougher on me. He's built for football. He's 12: weighs 135# (no fat...solid) and is 5' 6" tall. He's a greek god (didn't get it from me ). He's a great defensive end.
I let him help make the decision...but he wanted to stay at his current school and sacrifice football...I think he made the right decision...

Sorry to hear that he's not going to be able to keep playing. Think he's going to pick up another fall sport instead?
BTW, I was laughing at your description of him. I played FB through high school. More heart than talent, though. My junior year, I was the only player out of 120 (sophs through seniors) whose weight was in the double digits
