Impeller pumps like the Jabsco ballast puppies will usually drain out the thru-hull intake. That's one downside to it, that you can't see if it's empty like the systems that pee out the side.

I guess you could always use a second pump and a separate discharge line, but that kinda defeats the pupose of having a reversible pump and adds a lot of additional cost.

Unless they've changed CC an MC uses the ballast puppies. MC used to use a manifold and the last CC I looked at had individual intakes. I used impellers on my Tige and it worked great!
