I would tend to think the less you use your boat the more often you should change the impeller just due to dry rot. Since my boat was an 09 model sitting at the dealer with 1.2 hours on it, I'm going to change out the impeller this spring. Then I'll read more from y'all and see if I'll do it again next spring or do it every other year.
Order up one and then just inspect the one that is in there. It really just depends on the water that it was in that causes the dry rot, some water is harder on them than others.
