OH, a bay leaf in the stock pot, and some red pepper too... When the bones are cooking down...
    It's not an optical illusion.
    It just looks like one.....

Take a store bought rotisserie chicken and let it cool. Debone it and throw the bones in a stock pot and cover with Chicken stock. Boil for a while.

In the meantime, brown some onions, carrots, garlic and celery in olive oil and celery salt. When done to liking , toss in teh boiling bone stock.

Remove bones, add either homemade noodles, (egg, unbleached white flour, salt and pepper) or some frozen pre-made noodles. Boil a while, then add chicken meat.

Simmer a little while and *achoo* watch the stuffy nose go away...
I just made some on Friday night. Pretty similar to your recipe.

I even included the bay leaves, too. But no pepper. Kids won't eat it if I "accidentally" make things too spicy.

Oh well...can always add some horsepower in my bowl full.

Bt the way, this is the Uber-Easy cheater way to do it.

To do it right, you need to poach a whole chicken first. The way to do that is to bring a pot of salted water to a boil. When boiling, drop the whole chicken in. Let the water quit boiling, then pull the chicken out. Get the water boiling again, and drop the chicken in and turn the fire off. Cover the pot with a lid, and let it sit an hour.

Voila, chicken is done. Then proceed as above....
