Works well unless you are deeper than 25'
That's a good idea. I got a small....it should be fine since we're on a small lake and I've never owned a anchor.

I almost did the same thing two summers ago. I was going to buy one C&C 24 that was in nice shape, but minimally rigged, and buy another only for the winches, roller furling, and extra rigging.

            I bought the Tige' instead.
The luck is gone, the brain is shot, but the liquor we still got.

              dang, nice Phil.

I'm still looking for a stinkin' trawler. This all started when I told my brother I was going to build a floating dock to anchor out in the slough we ride in over the summer. He said, "Just buy an old fishing/tug style boat with a big rear deck"
Now I'm hooked on them and want one to cruise in now too.
              Waiting for another good one!

A small will work fine... You shouldn't worry about your Malibu crashing into shore anyway...
If its not fun, Why do it?

So who wants to come get the lead?

This is good for tying the back of the boat to the shore...

My setup held my boat with 40mph winds for over 30 minutes. It did not move an inch.
