I'll keep trying to answer WA's questions for ya'll. I might not be a practicing engineer anymore but I did stay at a Holiday Inn Express last night, see:

I found out the speakers sound better after using them for a couple weeks. They are powerful enough to make the stuff in the door's cargo pockets rattle. But I would recommend to anyone installing them to get a sub too to fill the lows in.
Yep, even on full-pass, small coax speakers have a hard time reproducing anything below 50Hz.

That's interesting...I'm amping them, but don't know how smart that is witout replacing the head unit.
Amping speakers is almost always an improvement, even if the input to the amp is the hi-level signal from the factory head-unit v's low-level RCA signal.Did you get a ZXSUM8? Other then the amp and sub, did you get anything new?

Chpthril, I was reading before how dingle is adding mb-8s to his tower, would I like mb-8s more than pro60s? They would be the only speakers on the tower.

Not by themselves as they are just an 8" mid-bass speaker and no tweeter. They are best suted paired up with either the 60's or 80's.

Nothing new except the KS480 speakers. I asked Kicker about a signal processor, but some some reason they did not recommend it....not Phil. I would feel better if you were doing the install, but figured you had enough going on right now.

No worries, you would have to be without the truck for a few days.
IMO, the ZXSUM8 is the perfect ticket for aftermarket gear with a factory frontend.

Ok, but the mb8s have the same main cone as the pro80s? So pro80s should have the same bass as the mb8s? So if can afford it I should go with pro80s to get better base? I figured out my budget and if I sell my house in TX I have a bigger budget than I thought. If I don't sell my house stereo upgrades are on hold. Ballast upgrade and board upgrades are a must.
