In WAs defense, I think I know where he's coming from. I think his last boat was a Sea-Doo and obviously a cheaper boat. Purely my conjecture, I think that Sea-Doo dealer is used to dealing with dumb people who are easy to take advantage of and probably screwed WA for some sort of warranty or service. That sort of happened to me and the Bayliner dealer in San Antonio. Then you get very defensive about anything any dealer recommends or tries to sell you and you become a do it yourselfer. When you get defensive the dealers clue in on that and some try to be nice and help you through your issues, other dealers turn cold and don't try to help you because your viewed as more trouble than its worth. Dom Forte does go out of his way on this site to help people with their dealer issues and thats probably why WA went to FL to get the boat, and saving tens of thousands of dollars helps too.
Then why is Dom not helping him with his problems? He should go to his dealer and not go after the vendors...
I agree. I think WA should be asking Dom to order it. There, problem solved.
After all, I can't call Ford in Dearborne, MI and ask them for the service manual on my F-250. I'd have to go through my dealer.
Try it, I am sure someone will call you back...
You can't just look at price when buying a boat. You gotta look at the service network also. If something happens, how do you get it fixed? If there is no local dealer you will talk to / speak to you - then you are SCREWED!!!
Just went to my local dealer and got a discount for being a good customer - post
Nice! I agree that he should call fortes and order it through them but PCM does have a website with contact info and if I lived on the opposite side of the country I would probably try to order it myself as well. When you go to an autoparts store and they are out of an item and no one has it in town and the store offers to order it for you do you let them order it or do you go home and order it off the Internet yourself, probably cheaper and not have to pay tax on that item? The Internet is changing the way we live and do business. In this case I'm not saying one way is better than the other, just pointing out that things are a changing.
