The lead was the best thing I could find to add more ballast in our Tige. I used it in the bu up to the point I plumbed in the 750's in the rear. I just don't need to add any more...we normally run our stock, plus 2000#. After this week we'll start training for INT and even drop that down further. Benj was landing his first mobes and 7's last fall with just the stock ballast, plus the 500# lead 300 rear/200 bow.

How much should I worry about the deck with these bricks back there? I know they won't bang around while in the water, but what about crossing nasty train tracks, etc. Think they can bounce and do damage to the deck of the boat?

Me too...but at present I'm without prop. Wonder if I could fab one out of cardboard?

What size prop do you need?

Not sure, but I have seen people wrap them in carpet. If you do anything be sure to add some straps to pick them up by.

You just use shotgun shot to fill them? I've seen very similar bags before.

I was thinking about fabricating a small frame out of 3/4" square tubing for these bricks to keep them off the carpet in the back so air can get under them and dry the carpet out... but that'll mess up the weight distribution as well, putting it all around the edge of that frame... *sigh*
