Do most of you guys do your own winterizing? If not...what are you paying the dealers in your areas??

I do my own but the local PCM dealer charges about 400-450, that includes the oil change & ballast system.

I don't add RV antifreeze to my ballast or engine, I drain it all, I have aerator pumps which drain themselves, and I do my own oil changes at regular intervals. I also keep the boat in my garage which doesn't get any colder than 45 in the cold of winter. My furnace and hot water heater are in the garage

299.99 at the Tige dealer in Stillwater. He also offers a 249.00 with no oil / filter change or a 199.00 for just the block winterize.

It might be time for me to build a big garage.

They have a menu for you to pick your options, 450 includes every option but there are cheaper options, but I still prefer to DIY so I know it was done right, most dealers are great but some stories on here tell the worst case scenario from a few service departments that forget something or mess something up and don't stand behind their work. At least if I mess up I've got myself to blame pay for the fix so it's good incentive to NOT mess up.

I haven't heard of any issues with this dealer except for being a little slow.

I often have winter days above 60 degrees. If I don't take the boat out, I'll likely at least pull it out of the shop and just run it. I have the transom flush kit installed on my boat, but you can run a fake-a-lake too.
                          Waiting for another good one!

Another one that does it myself. I think there are many on here that do. That was one of the first things I learned on this site and what made this site so awesome.

Cost wise I have seen $300 - $600. Then some of them expect you to bring it back to them to summerize for about the same cost but typically a little cheaper. There is the thought that if they do it then they are liable. On the other hand I know that some don't do what they say they do. I would rather do it knowing what I have done and how it was done. You also become a lot more familiar with your boat.

My is that it is not that hard to do it yourself.

Dealer here offers winterization, shrink wrap and storage for $749. That is what we are going with.
