I feel like a dumbarse. I had the tower amp set to front so only one of them was getting full blast. I now have the gain around 3/4 and 80hz and they are sounding good to me. Hard to tell up close because theyre so damn loud but I dont think theyre distorting a bit.

Your gains should be no more then 1/4 way up if you have your WS-420 installed and just under 1/2 without the 420. Any higher and you will have gain hiss and run the risk of clipping the signal.

My cd player maxes at 33 and I have it where max is 24. Would that matter? I could set it to max at 28 and set the amps st under half

That would help to prevent clipping the head-unit signal, but you still run the risk of gain hiss regardless. 25 on the head-unit should be your max, period.
