Hydrotuned RZ4 - Stealth Install
The objective here, as with most all of our installations, was to incorporate an excessive stereo system into the vessel without impairing the daily functionality. This boat logs real hours most always while loaded with people, boards, drinks, bags, lead, etc. Occupying the limited real estate available with stereo components was out of the question. The obvious solution... hide it.
Of course burying amps behind seats isn't revolutionary and is something we've been doing for a while as a theft deterrent and wanting the installation to have and additional level of flair we decided to take it a step further. By modifying the SYN amps with acrylic windows, interior LED lighting, and a brushed finish I feel we were able to achieve a moderate level of "showiness" that the customer could then choose to show off at their discretion. In order to make the task of displaying the amps an easy process the seats went through their share of plastic surgery to allow them to hinge downward. ABS cover panels were created on each side to finish out the look.
We knew going in (taking from what we learned on the last Wet Sounds boat) that the subs needed to be on plane with one another to achieve that amount of bass response desired by the customer. Once again as not to detract from functionality we built the subs in behind walls with perforated metal grills so that carry-on items could be shoved into the compartment with limited audible effect or damage. In addition roughly 3cuft of storage was given above each slot loaded enclosure.
The system consists of:
(2) Wet Sounds XS-XXXv2 subwoofers in slot loaded enclosures.
(6) Modified Wet Sounds SYN series amplifiers.
(6) Wet Sounds Rev10 tower speakers.
(12) Wet Sounds XS-650 Interior speakers
(5) Size 24 batteries
