Rust - new boatmate trailer

My brand new Boatmate trailer has some rust forming on the fenders. What should I use to prevent this from getting worse?

You can order paint from Boatmate or your local Tige dealer. Since your trailer is black, I would just get black paint at Home Depot or Menards and do the touch up that way as it will be much cheaper.

Those are all rock chip spots. I have the same thing. I've been wanting to get some truck bed liner or something similar and apply to the areas that are prone to chipping.

I found a touch up pen from I think Autozone back in the day that had an eraser-type sanding end on it, I've kept that for getting any rust out of a rock chip.

Then, I actually use fingernail polish to touch it up. Easy to apply, fill, and feather, hardens well, and I've never had it flake off. Actually found a color that has just the right amount of metal flake in it to match my Ram truck, and my Boatmate trailer is just a raven black.

Took a couple punches out of the old man-card shopping for the colors though, and not the easiest drawer in the toolbox to explain. It now has a few different shades of black, a nice JD green and yellow color, and a few shades that I should probably get rid of since I don't have those cars anymore...

Get some touch up paint from boat mate. If you want to prevent it apply some clear bra vinyl to it.

I just did the truck bed liner truck on mine back when I had black. Worked awesome! Lasted for 6 years then I sold it.
