    Vehicle Positioning Dollys

Can anyone recommend a good set of wheel dollys? Something like this?

I'm going to put the boat in the garage this winter to work on it, but that means I need to tuck it away in the corner. It's not possible to back it in. I seem to recall some discussion on this. My boat is a 2013 Z1, so it's about 6000lbs on the trailer.

My concern is that I buy some and the boat is too heavy to move. My garage floor is a bit older and has some cracks, chips etc. I feel that steel wheels won't work and I may need something softer.

Let me know what you've used and whether or not they work.

I think they are plastic wheels. My neighbor has a set similar from Harbor Freight, http://www.harborfreight.com/automot....html?limit=60, I don't know which ones.

This older thread is the most extensive one on the subject, that I know of.

I use these to position my Z3 in my garage. Use them each time I get the boat in and out. They work great. I can pivot the boat easily by myself.

I have one of these from Princess Auto:

It wouldn't lift one wheel on its own. I'm not sure if the 1500lb capacity is per wheel, or per vehicle. I don't know of any 1500lb cars, so I doubt it is for the whole vehicle.

Once you get it up, can you move the boat around on your own, or do you need a team of horses?

Just for interests sake this was Sunday in Calgary:

I can not believe that Calgaty has already had first snow! Too early! I'm not ready for my next visit to have snow already!

It will be back to +20 this weekend. Sort of an anomaly.

I plan to store the boat indoors this winter, and plans are brewing for a new garage to store all my toys for next year. But that is a topic for another thread!

I would not use the ones you have above. I folded a pair of those with my RZ4. I upgraded to some like this and it moves easily now. http://www.eastwood.com/heavy-duty-1...R4QaArHT8P8HAQ

Good to know. I think those I posted would be harder to get the tire on as well. It needs more clearance.

I found these today at princess auto. 1500lbs each.

When you say moves easily, you mean you can move it alone? In any direction?

Yes, those are them. Mine are wider, but the same. The roll very smoothly.
