My rough hot running 6.0 is fixxed

I am pleased to say that the first trip out since taking Dom's knowledge and performing the cooling system "fix" on my 2004 MP 6.0 is a success. I was having "percolation" problems while surfing and the boat would begin to run poorly. It apparently was running hot. After the mod at idle the temp was @ 170-175 and once under way it was a solid 155/160. We surfed for @ 1 1/2 hours and she ran great. I would still like to see less fluctuation but am happy to have fixxed it. Thanks to all who helped.

Saw you guys at the ramp, I had the GF's family on board, it was a big cluster. Not one person could back a trailer so I got to be the guy backing and launching. That ramp isn't as steep as before and the truck was to the doors, time to find a new ramp. Glad you guys had a good day.

^^^^^ X2, is this something I have to worry about with my 2007 6.0 or was this problem only on the earlier years?

The mod has to do with replacing the factory t-stat with a "standard style" 160deg unit. In order to do this you have to use a washer to block off a coolant port in where the t-stat sits. I will not try and say how to do this as I don't want to mislead anyone. I can say that I did this mod myself and it seems to work.
I could have only done this with the help and guidence of Dom. This mod is for a MP 6.0 closed cooling motor. This fixed my slow speed/wakesurfing running hot/running rough issues. If you need Dom's help he can be found through this site.
evilOne I saw you at the ramp, yes the ramp is getting shallow. Next time I see you out I will introduce myself.I have 2 people besides myself who can drive the tow vehicle which is nice.

I normally do as well, it was kind of frustrating. I'd like to see that mod because I have the same motor. After an ECU flash I really haven't had any heat issues but I guess it is better to know what's out there. See you soon.

I dont know if mine has ever been flashed? I suppose I can call Matt and see if that applies to my boat. I may go out this weekend and if so I will post here.

I had mine out for the first time this year, went to callville, the no wake zone is got to be a quarter mile long, went i got to where i could speed up, i got a lot of fluctuation, like it was flooded, turned the key off,and then started it back up and it cleared out and ran fine. Same thing happened on the way back in though. any thoughts? by the way I have a friend that lives at hemingway, the marina owner told him that there expecting lake mead to go down another 14 feet by the end of summer, there going to have to move the marina 4 more times.
