    Biminis and covers

I am interested in Bimini options for the 2008 20V with Tige tower. LOve to see some pictures of options . Does anyone use a full cover that strips away leaving a Bimini ? Thanks! ac

Not sure from your post if you have a bimini and are just looking for something better, or looking for one period. Here are a couple pics of the 08 factory bimini w/extension. My find a reputable canvas shop in your area and have them make you a custom one to your liking. Ask around at a couple of boat dealers who the use.

Congrats and welcome to the site, post up some pics of your ride.

          2007 20V Bimini

I too am interested in the factory bimini with extension for my 2007 20V. I would rather have the factory vs a custom made one. I have heard all the horror stories about the factory 2007 biminis for the 20v's. Are the 2008 and 2009 like the pic I inserted? Are the 08's and 09's similar or the same? Are they easy to use? Also what is the approx price installed? My tige dealer is on an extended break due to the winter weather and I am wanting to get my stuff in order before I drop the hammer and get one. Thanks.

The 08 Bimini is very easy to put up and take down.

If tou get the factory top hopefully you did not get the billets powder coated because you most likely will chip it a few times installing and taking doen etc.

Once you have practice, IMO it is managaeable to put up the 2007 but I needed two people at first to work with it.When I trashed the tower and wnet with the amson top it is veru easy to put up and take down and does not rattle you brains out when driving

Even though you should be able to get a big discount on the $917.00 top I think the after market towers are better as long as you find a good canvas and top shop. The cost will typicallt be half. Just as a point of reference look at SamsonSports and look at the top on the razor. A local shop could clone it and it is a breeze to puy up and take down. Just my :02

              08 vs 09

anyone know if the 2008 version is similar/identical to the 2009? Also, is the extension necessary? It looks like it would help, but i'm not sure it is worth the cost not to mention the 4 places you have to drill into the tower for the extension.

Yes, as far I know, the bimini for Tige "E" series tower (like pictured on the RZ4 above) is the same for 09 as in 08.

The extension in an option, as it not needed for the operation of the main bimini section, but adds to the shade.

Cost, I agree, have a local canvas shop make a bimini to your liking. A custom made will allow for 2 things that are a pro, IMO, over the "over-the-tower" bimini from the factory: Speakers can be mounted on the rear cross bar which results in less volume filtering into the cabin. The lower bimini gives a little more shade. Speakers can be mounted on the rear bar with the new style bimini, but the bimini would have to be altered to go around the clamps and the extension would not be use-able.

Don't worry about drilling a few small holes in the tower for bimini hardware.

I had my local shop built the same type bimini for under $300. If I was to rebuilt the Tige' bimini, I would add about 1-2 feet in the front to cover the driver better.

Here are a couple pics of the bimini top on my 2008 20 v. It is very easy to put up. It would be nice to have the extension on it, but I dont have that.

                      bimini

Nice pics. Is that the factory bimini for 2008? Does it need more coverage in front to protect the driver? Or, if you had the extension, you'd be happy?

Yep, they have the straps in 08, you can see them on the blue RZ4 above along with the extension. The extension comes off the rear and does not offer as much shade as past years because it's mounted so high

Had a local shop build ours. Little bit lower, so it has better coverage.

                            20V factory bimini plus extension

Ok, I have called all over. $1300 for the factory bimini plus 300 for installation. That price is insane of course. And, they cannot get charcoal grey. Weird, but it seems tige has changed providers again. Anyway, I am going to try and get a local canvas person to duplicate it with extension. Does anyone have any close up's of the 20V with the 2008 bimini? I need to show the canvas guy the pix. I have showed him the pix on this thread, maybe a close up of sooner's would do real good. I am getting frustrated, I was ready to pull the trigger on the 1300.00, then they said they can only get black with a grey stripe. I am confused why tige dealers cannot just order this thing and that would be it. Tower biminis cannot to a bimini to a 20v. I called them last week.
