That looks pretty good. I bet the scuffs on yours really showed up with it being black.

I need to take a picture of mine so you all can see how bad it is, if I can get most of the scuffs out, I like Mikes idea best, because it's not as visible. But the gator grip is a good alternative if I can't clean it up. The gator grip also seems to fairly reasonable in price, looks like I could get the the $45. piece and cut it in half (linear) and do both sides of the transom.
I don't want to go to work, take me wake surfing instead!

Here's the after, before the mask:
Smoother than a baby's bottom and shinier than a bald head!

That does suck. I would get the GG in black to match what you have on the swim deck. The clear stuff will show the scratches still.

I would just go ahead and remove the decal and apply the gator grip. It would most likely look much cleaner than hacking it up and trying to make it look good by cutting around a decal. I would just get another decal and move it up and out of the way or leave it blank.

Here is an idea go to a company like fast signs and have a decal made with whatever emblem or logo you want but have them make the outer edges in the color that matches your boat that way it will cover up your scratches, also use the 3M film like for your cars and put over it. Its easy to put on and cheap I put it on mine 2 years ago and no damage yet
4-7-09 And still employeed for yet another week (subject to change at any moment)have we hit bottom yet?

Scoot sorry it took so long for me to get back to you. Our boat was in the shop when I was gonna send you the pic of the GG and then when we got it back I totally forgot..

But here it is. We cut a 4" strip of the GG and went hook to hook on the transom. We also removed the original Tige emblem (which got a chunk taken out of it by a surfboard on the boat's 2nd outing) and put a new one on higher up. I think it worked pretty well and it has saved our transom countless times.

                  Here it is:
