    20v Wake surf setup

Hi, I just bought a 2008 20v (no ballast) and have had it out a few times wakesurfing and was looking for some tips. The boat says that maximimum lbs is about 1100 or about 9 people but I have seen postings on this site where people are adding much more. I have fat sacks so I'm set to weight it down. Also curious as to speed and taps you are all using....

I bought a 4' 6" obrian alias to surf on but can exchange it after the first few times out (the store is pretty good that way). Curious if anyone else has used it and what they thought. The first few times I had trouble getting some slack in the line but maybe I'm just expecting too much given I havent really surfed much and I dont have the boat setup properly yet.

anyways any help would be appreciated.

We've managed to dial in a our 08' 20V & it is a great wake. We put a 700lb bow sack, filled about 3/4 full, across the bow seats & a 500lb v-drive sack in the rear locker of the side the rider is on. 11mph and taps at 5.5. I'll try and post some pics of it for ya. That set up is with only two people in the boat. If we have more people, we leave the bow sack out and just put the other v-drive sack on the floor between the bow seats

The guy I know with a 20v has to weight the heck out of the front for surfing and about 50/50 weight dist for boarding. It also depends on deep or shallow water, if you are shallow you might want to slow down a little. Also don't be in a hurry to throw the rope or even get slack, get used to the way the board feels and tweek the speed and maybe even have people move around the boat while holding the handle to get things setup.

I disagree with having to "weight the heck out of it". I've surfed my 20V without any weight other than a couple of people and it's not that bad at all. Adding weight definately improves the wake, but you truely do not have to over weight it or get to an unsafe point at all. I've posted pics of the "un-weighted wake" on here before. Ks can back me up on this. He's been out there with me everytime and I know he loves the wake my 20V puts out. We use both my 20V and his RZ2 and have got both dialed in with great wakes

04 20v 600lbs ballast on rear side that the person is surfing on.Taps vary between 3 and 6 depends on how many passengers.Good for surfing but you have to stay close to the back of the boat 2 to6 feet from swim deck.Tell people to surf with a slack rope for at least five mins. before throwing it. As a point of boating courtesy tell them to yell "rope" before they toss it this avoids pissed of passengers and learning to slack rope avoids lots of starting and stopping which wastes everyones time
