Yes, it is covered. The dealer can't get to it for a couple of weeks and is not sure what is going on since flashing the ECM did not fix the problem. Hopefully it will be something simple like trash in the paddle wheel.

I have a 2008 24ve and experienced the same problem. It seems to happen after I've slowed after a boarder drops, then reaccelerate with the cruise control still engaged. I've gotten into the habit of flipping off the cruise when decelerating, then reengaging it on the next pull. Not a solution, but it does seem to avoid the unexpected slow down when you have someone being towed.

Yes, I've learned to work around this problem too. The main problem I am having is when I am pulling my son down the cove and right in the middle of the run, the power drops off then kicks back in. It does this 3 or 4 times in a few seconds then finally gets back up to speed. It didn't happen at all yesterday but happened once today. My son can ride it out but us older folks fall when the power drops off and then keeps surging. Thanks for your input.

I checked the paddle wheel this morning and it is spinning freely. I even used a flashlight to make sure something wasn't back behind it that might interfere sporadically with the wheel but all was clean. I wonder if it could be picking up debris for just a few seconds while on the lake. There is bark and leaves and stuff from flooding earlier in the summer but not THAT much.

"About 5 or 6 times that day the engine would start cutting out when accelerating. It could best be described as sputtering and popping (like backfiring) and had no power. I tried giving more throttle and I tried giving less throttle and neither worked. I would have to put it in neutral and start over."

It does sound similar but my engine doesn't ever sputter or pop and I don't have to go back to neutral to get it going again. My problem doesn't happen during acceleration but after I've been at set speed for a while and it does get back up to speed without me doing anything to correct it. I will certainly keep this post in mind and mention it when I take the boat back in to the shop next week.
