    2007 20V

I get to pick up my new 2007 20V tomorrow. I need a bimini top though. I saw recent threads that suggest www.towerbiminis.com but it dosent seem they are still in business. Their website wont come up. Anyone have an alternative? I heard the Tige 2007 biminis are crap, and that I should get an aftermarket bimini. Also, the Tige biminis are $900.00. I dont feel like paying almost a grand for a bimini that probably isnt the best solutions.

    Thanks

Go to a custom canvas shop and they can make you one. You should be able to find a reputable one in your area.

I ended up getting mine fixed and did not go with them.

I am not sure I would go that direction unless they have exprerience w/ bimini's...sounds like trouble if they do not build them as part of their core business.

Do NOT get an 2007 bimini from Tige under any circumstances, even if they pay you if you decide to go through Tige. They are a complete nightmare.

Once you figure out how to put the 2007 bimini up it isn't all bad. The instructions in the download section make a big difference. When I went out on my friends 20V with those instructions it wasn't a nightmare. The issue is how the poles are stored so you can lower the tower.

Congrats on the new 07 20V. I hope you got a fantastic deal.

While the set up is more difficult than it should be, by nightmare I was refering to the damage it does to the tower with all pole flapping around and the fact that it renders the swivel board racks useless. I have however bent a number of the screws trying to fasten the poles. Poor design.

dont know about you, but that looks photo shopped

We have a local shop make all out covers and biminis for the Correct Crafts and they do a good job at a reasonable price. Get a couple of estimates, as someone should be able to make it how you want it. I love how my 06 (same tower as the 07's) folds out and stows. Real easy compared to the 07's and better coverage and looks better then the 08 IMO.

People bash Tige for their optional ballast, but CC doesn't offer a mooring cover and board racks are an option on ALL the models

                    pix

I will try and take some pics this weekend.

I have had several small issues that this forum has helped with after doing searches. This is a great place to get info. One issue that just happened is the tige metal emblem on the back bench seat fell off. It looked like it was glued down. Does anyone know what type of adhesive to use to get that emblem glued back on?

Also, is it better to have the taps on a 1-2 setting when pulling up skiers/wakeboarders and then adjusting the final setting? It just seems logical, but I am not sure if I should be pulling up people with a setting of about 4.

I always pull by boarders up on 1 and then adjust to final setting. Not sure how other people do it but this works for me

I saw a bimini at Skier's Wharf in Rogers that fit above the tower. It appeared to be a really simple design that folds down with the tower. The boat with that top sold over the 4th of July but it's on the lake all the time. It's a red and white Tige' but not sure what model. I think the top runs $700 or $800.

The newer ones also have two screws holding them on as the glue did not work so well.

I have a 07 20v. I find the Bimini top a challenge at times. I have figured out a good system that works,it just took some practice. It does not interfere with the racks at all as we are always changing boards for different people. It is sure one area that Tige could improve though. I vote for a power Bimini, push a button and it folds out or in--call it a taps top.
