2004 24v weight

I look at the old specs and it says 4500 lbs. But every other 24v weighs like 4300 lbs. What gives?

I am trying to by a boat lift and there is a big price difference between lifts that hold 4500 lbs and 5500 lbs.

Another question is that the specs on the engine state 5.7l GM vortec @ 375. I swear mine is a 6.0l gm vortec with 375. Am I mistaken?

what specs are you looking at? where are numbers you are talkihng about come from? We have a 2005 24v with 5.7l 340hp engine. The weight of ours (dry) is shown as 4325lbs. So it says in the 2005 brochure. Once you start adding fuel, tower, platform, stereo,life jackets, anchor, etc you are going to be around 5000lbs. Just a full tank of gas adds about 380lbs. The 2005 brochure says 6.0l is 375 hp if you have the PCM unit. Also the 6.0l is heavier than the 5.7l engine. I think you need to consider 5500lbs

I figure I need to get the 5500 lb lift but was not 100%. I just rechecked my motor and it says GM Vortec 6000 series 375 HP. Are the PCM motors red?

thanks for the link. I looked at all the years. First question is where are the 2008 specs? Then under 2007 they show an RZ4. Did tige make an RZ4 2007 model? I thought it was a 2008 model year for the 1st RZ4. But I may be wrong. The 5.7l engine is not 375hp. Its 340hp. That is an error that needs to be corrected. Looks like the weights changed some between 04 and 05 for the 24v. Do not know why. If your engine is red than its a PCM. Lucky you since u can get all the PCM manuals off the web.

How bout the differences in people capacity? Why is the Ve capable of carrying more then the V?

Not exactly sure on why the Ve series can hold more people. But again, the 24V is not 23 feet 9 inches where the 24Ve is 24 feet for one. The inside of the seating area of the 24V must be smaller than the 24Ve.. Are the lockers on the 24V larger????

Very good question. The 24 V is 23 ft 10 in. I do not beleve that There is that much more room in the 24Ve that you can add 4 more people. Maybe trying to compete with the MALIBU 247?

Well, the sticker that Tige puts on is the estimate that they provide that says. "this" many people or "this" much weight can get into the boat and the boat will stay atop the water. With this, is the 24Ve more buoyant than the 24V????

I just went back to the site and not only is the 2008 data missisng but pdf files for the 2007 year are also not there as they are for other years!

I know they removed the step that the v has for the ve. You can fit one more person there. Maybe the lockers are bigger but that should not make a difference. The amount of people it can fit is an equation based on length and width.

loudelectronics, Now you can step on the seats to get in instead of the step. Gives you more opportunity to ruin the seats, stitching etc. Glad we have the 24V with the step.

It's always better to get the bigger lift. You won't regret it.
