2000 21V Fox Series, Starting Problem

I have a 2000 21V Fox Series and the last time out we were wake boarding and noticed the later in the day, while attempting to get a couple of newbies up on a wake board, the boat began having trouble starting. It had no problem turning over but actually firing up. I could feather the trodle and she'd start and run good. Pulled her out of the water, turned the key and she fired right up. About 30 minutes later, back at the house tried her again and again she fired right up. Tige dealership in Corona told me it's a possible iginion starter switch located under the distirbuter cap. Friends told me bad gas? Any buddy had the same problem?

    Thanks

If you have the Merc 315, then you probably need to replace your distributor cap and rotor. They don't last very long on these engines and I've had to replace mine multiple times.

X2 Welcome to the site Shamrock.

Has the fuel filter been changed?

The only other thing I thought of is the fuel pump. A few of us had what was like a vapor lock issue. After the engine cooled off about 10 minetes it would run like normal. I as well as others replaced the fuel pump and anti-siphon valve with no problems yet. I'll look for the thread.
