2006 vs 2007 20V's

I have been looking at 2006 and 2007 20V's. Is there any place to find out the major differences in the year models? I have seen the model specs on this website, but anyone know if there are any major differences besides cosmetic? Or anywhere to find them?

May have a Merc engine or Marine Power
May have PP instead of speed set
Weak board racks, will need modified if not already.

07:
Tige Speed Set (if Marine Power)
Marine Power engine, but still could have the Merc 315hp w/carb
Improved board racks
Wet Sounds cabin and tower speakers
Bimini is a little complicated

I assume I can buy the 2007 Board Racks and put them on the 2006, the tower looks the same. Also, I like the racks that swing in.

Also, does the 2006 have the trim switch on the throttle like the 2007's do?

Yes, it's a fairly easy mod of adding a lock down bolt with handle to secure the rack to the tower upright when in the out position. Or, you can have a machine shop weld in a gusset to beef them up. I want this route last year and are very pleased with the results.

Do a search for "board racks" and you should find pics of the broken racks, my modified racks, and the new style. If not, I'll find and link them here.

Are you looking at new or used? Better off getting an '07 20v since many dealers still have them on their lot and you will get a great bargain on them.

The 07's also came with Kicker component and Tower Speakers.
My Candy corn model has Kickers components and the Wetsounds I added. I don't know if Wetsound were an option later in the model year. My 07 was an early model year built in Sept 06. It is a sweet 20 footer

If you can, avoid the powder coated billets. My boat has been on the water a few imes and where the billets connect to the tower by the bimini the paint is flaking off from putting the bimini up and down or the tower up and down.

06 vs 07

I have a guy offering me an 07 in excellent condition for a little less that 34000 with almost all the options. Its far far away from me. I also have another guy offering me an 06 in excellent condition for 34000 that is closer. The 07 has the better drivers seat(vision air), better swivel racks , worse trailer, same motor, dual batts(07) vs single batt(06), better cruise control, transom remote, better clarion sound system, and is one year newer for less. Maybe I should drive farther for the better deal. The 06 has 50 hours and the 07 has 105 hours. I can see me buying the 06 for at least $1,000 less, but I cannot pay more for an 06 with less options. By the way, both have the 340 horse motor. Anyone wanna deliver a tige from Orlando to Arkansas for lots of beerz!!!....let me know! HA!

By the way, that's a good looking 07....Like the colors, nobody will have trouble seeing you comin........

I was just down on Bullshoals with my semi Loaded 07. It only has 12 hours since it is virtually new It cost a tad more than you are looking at and I added the Wetsounds to the tower and 2nd battery and a front set of cleats.

I will be on Tablerock in August.

I'll split the difference with ya the 07 22i we have does have a Marine Power engine, but it is a 315HP. I never looked that close, just assumed it was Merc because it was a 315hp

Hey da what is a great bargain on a 07 20v now?

20V's

New 2007 at stateamind in St Louis will run you 38,000 nicely equipped. That's the only 2007 20V I have found new since looking for the past few weeks. Is that a great bargain? It has dual batts, tower, speed set, transom remote and lights,cover, trailer, no bimini though, etc

New 2008 equipped nicely will run about 39,000 right now.

I've seen used 2007's from 32,000 all the way up to 45,000. The one for 45,000 is in Texas at a consignment shop, and they have no idea the brand new 2008's are 6,000 cheaper and come with warranty. I guess they hope someone will drive by and buy it on the spot without checking into it.

You buy new you pay sales tax, you buy used you buy warranty. So they almost even out...almost.

Anyone know what the 2009 20V's will have thats new? They still seem to have the old tower.

The 2009 20V have PCM motor and new gelcoat and color schemes. That is about it according to a Tige Regional Manager.

As you have seen the color 2009 schemes are the best the industry.

Depending on how the 08 and 07 are equipped and if they have dual axle fold-able tongue trailers both numbers are good and acceptable. I personally would do the 08 since the 09's are out and you are 1 model year back.
