    Detailed 21v trailer Dimensions?

Hey all, I've been lurking for a while and decided to finally break myself in and post. I am about to purchase a (new to me) 1999 21V and have a few questions. Storage locations sure aren't cheap, especially covered and I actually have the room in my garage. Problem is, I don't know if I can get it INTO the garage. Does anyone have a good precise measurement on the width of the trailer from tire to tire o.d.? I'm really hoping it will fit as this will save me many $$$ per year.

    Thanks,
    Josh

As I learned the hard way when I bought my 07 20V last year I expected that the boat would fit fine in the garage on a trailer that with boat, taps plate and tower would fit easily since my previous boat length was was under 20 ft. The width of the old trailer was 96 inches because the boat had an 84 inch beam.

Well width was not an issue because my garage has a double wide door. If you have single doors they are typically 96 inches wide and your trailer will be wider than that because the 21V is a 96" beam or wider so the fenders will stick out at least 6 inches on each side.

If the boat has a tower on it the tower will need to be folded to get in the door and when on the trailer the highest point on the tower should be less than 83 inches so it can clear the garage sill on a 7'x8' or 7'x16' door.

With a folding tongue you will need to have the length of the trailer and boat taps plate to be a few inches less than the length of the garage.

Because of my trailer length, and my tower height I had to have my trailer customized to fit the dimensions of the garage length and opening height. We had to reduce the length of the overall trailer with tongue folded and the taps plate in the up position. To get the boat lower the trailer company had to remove 3" from the buk supports lowering the boas perspective on trailer.

I hope the info helps. You will need to measure width, Height, and length once boat is on the trailer you pick.

I have this boat. The trailer's about 9.5' wide and 25' long with the boat on it. I'd want to get a storage location that's 11' wide and 25' long.

I have an 8' door on my 20'x30' garage. I'm not sure if it would fit in a 7' high door.

Well, I found a place that will fit my needs and unfortunalely it is not my garage. Each door is only about 8'10" sill to sill. I'm looking at $135 a month for a 12x30 self-store. They also have covered slips at the marina here for $160/month but they don't have any availability right now. I have to figure something out quick. Thanks for the replies everyone, I'm so excited to get my Tige.

              dogbert,
Let's see $500 to modify my trailer so it would go in a 7' door takes 500/135 to pay for it self at self store rates. That is just under 4 months so at the end of July modifying my trailer to fit will be effectively paid for and then each boating season of 5 months I save $675 and for the off season months it will either go to a barn for $100 for the winter or stay in my garage. Either way I can save money over local selfstore all season. That is about $1500 in savings which will add up over the time I intend on keeping the 20V

So the $500 modifications seem to be well worth it as well as buying a 20V that fits in the 21'6" depth of my garage. Now I guess you can see why I was asking the FAE questions recently and going thru all the heck last fall-winter to get the trailer modified.

I am sorry to hear it won't fit in your garage. That's a shame but at least you found a reasonable alternative.

Enjoy your 21V Tige and be sure not to lurk and post pictures of her when you pick her up.
