    Transon screws Issue

I was just wondering if anyone else had the screws come loose on the hinges of the compartments in the transom?

There is a very small space to put the screw driver. I fixed my a couple of times but I can't get it tight enough to stay. The screws just keep on coming loose.

Is there a tool the would that would allow me to tight a screw with about 1 1/2 inch of clearance?

    Yes I have.

Have tightened two hinges so far and I am sure there is more to come. Wonder if some lock-tite will work for this issue????

I found also 2 screw on the bottom next to the engine that I have no idea where they came from. I am still searching!

Lock-tite is a good idea. I'll try that next.

I don't think that tool will fit in the space. I'll take a picture tonight to show how little space is allowed. The issue is that is not only the length clearance but the width as well.

I had to get a small bathroom mirror to help find the phillips screws to attach/tighten it. It was a royal PITA!!!!!!!!!!

Try a screwdriver with a 90 degree bend or a thumb wheel.

The one on the left is what I used. Worked like a charm.

                    That might also work chpthril.

The best way to tell you how that "bucket" is in there is by having you go see for yourself. It's hard to explain.

Haven't had a problem with mine. I'll have to check them out this weekend now that you mentioned it.

We could have put this thread in the RZ Series topic

Here's an attempt to explain how tight the space is.

I think that the last tool would be able to get in there.

Jason B's 90 degree phillips screwdrivers would also work. I have used them.

                              ek, Nice drawing BTW....
