    2007 20V alarm after sets

This weekend when returing to tick up a rider the screeching alarm went off for 10 seconds. Seemed like an eternity. First time I looked at the gages and nothing seemed wrong. It hapened about four more times. The last time I notived the oil pressure was pretty high and then it came down and the alarm stopped. I also thought i smelled something burning as did some passengers. Like burning oil. This is a new boat with 20hrs on it. Any thoughts or similar experiences?

There's a known problem on one of the engines (Marine Power) where the dip stick is too short so you'll overfill the oil. Here's the thread on that recall:

Thanks again for your replies dogbert. If the dipstick tube is the problem... how long was this magic straw that MP sent out to measure my tube? Didn't see anyone posting the lenght in your attached thread.

PS the boarding was much better with TAPS at ~4. Really nice ride. Finally fetl like we were getting dialed in.

did it happen as you slowed the boat down rapidly? If so then your oil is low! This has happened to me a couple times.

It did occur with a fast slow down to return for the rider. I checked the oil and it did seem low... but with these dipstick issues I'm not sure. It's right at 20 hrs so I took it in for the scheduled service. Might have burned some oil during the break-in period and all. As I said by the dipstick it seemed about a quart low.

I'll be back out this weekend for some more fun.
