    2003 22V Limited Edition

I am considering buying a used 2003 22V Limited Edition. What is the difference in the editions of 2003? I believe there is a riders edition and limited edition. I know the graphics on the side are different, but what else?

    some details:
Motor: 350 MERC fuel injected but I dont think it is MPI. 315 horsepower. Is this motor decent?
hours: 408, is this excessive for 4-5 yrs of ownership?
Storage: mainly stored outside on a fresh water boat lift.
    Fuel tank size?:40 gals
    Cruise Control?:No

Any thoughts on what I need to look at on the motor or the boat in general to make sure it is in decent shape? Any other thoughts?

    Thanks

Biggest diff is graphics and options I think.

I dont think 400hrs for a 4-5 yr old tow boat is too high, I rolled 200 today and we are just getting into our 3rd season.

If you like the boat and price, but are still unsure, have a reputable marine tech to check it out for you, may be worth a couple of hundred bucks.

      2003 motors?

Anyone know what motors were available on the 2003 22V limited editions? Was this the only one available?

It's the graphics and trim (vinyl, carpet, etc.)

If it's fuel injected then the engine is the "MPI" (same engine I have). It's been failry easy to work on thus far...nothing major though thank goodness!!

I was under the impression the limited has the seat in the middle bow walk way area, so you have to step over the seat in to the bow and the little door that can be closed to add another seat.

400 hours does not sound excessive as long as they've maintained it.
Other than that, Mrs. Lincoln, how was the play?

I believe the choices were Merc 315 and the Merc 330 (Scorpion). I've got 640+ on my Merc 315. Besides routine maintenance, the only thing I've had to do was get the fuel pressure regulator replaced last year. It does like to go through distributor caps more frequently than other engines, but I lump that under routine maintenance. The last few hundred hours have been under heavy load as we routinely max out our ballast for surfing and wakeboarding.

              pix

It is the MPI. I think it has been a little neglected, here are a couple of pix of the engine. Note the corrosion, I thought that was telling. The boat has been stored outside the past couple of years. I might need to look elsewhere.

                i have an 03 22v riders. marine power 335hp
                5.7L
from what i understand is the riders edition came with ballast and cruise. overall not really to much differance between the two. i do prefer the marine power over the merc.i did have to look for awhile to find mine in my years as a marine mechanic i just found the MP to be more dependable and easier to work on. alot of the corrosion i see looks to be just surface stuff. if the boat was kept on a lift its hard to keep all the water out of the bildge and it can get that way. best way we have found to keep the water out is to install a center drain plug. due to the convex v hull water likes to puddle in the center and when on a lift its hard to tilt it up in the front like you can when its on a trailer so it can drain out the rear.

                  thanks

Thanks for your help on this. I wish it had the marine power motor rather than the mercruiser, but you cant have everything. My local tige dealer will check this out before I purchase. We will see if it works out.

Doesn't look like much corrosion at all. I'd pimp it.

                    What's the asking price?

                      price

                      $26,500

there are other issues, but mainly cosmetic.
