Battery Hook Up and Electrical Issues

We have a 2007 22V and just took it out to get ready for Memorial day. Went to hook up the battery and am not sure where some of the wires go. We have two large red wires on the positive. One large black wire on the negative. There is a small black wire with a red strip labeled Bilge pump. Does this wire go on the negative?

Also none of the dash controls work properly. Bilge/blower/nav lights/etc don't work at all. The dash board lights are the only thing that light ups this lights also flash when the horn button is pushed We checked the breaker box under the dash board and found the CST Light breaker popped.

We started tracing out the wires and found that the ground bus bar under the dash board has 8V on it. This should be 0 as it is ground. Sounds like there is a bad ground some where. Any pointers on where to look? I have checked all the inline fuses that I can find. Are there any hidden ones?

Check the ground connection on the battery. I had an issue today where the connector to the battery was tight and the ground cable pulled right out of the heat shrink. It was crimped improperly on my 2007 20V. I removed the old battery terminal and electrical system was a ok.

The black wire that says bilge probably has an inline fuse. If so it most likely is the positive connection for the automatic bilge.

    ps. Check your yahoo account.

Sounds like you got a ground or 2 that are tucked down out of sight, common over-sight by both owners and dealer techs. May need to pull the battery(s) out and feel around for loose wires.

The wire labeled "bilge" should be the constant 12v for the auto bilge. Grounds are not typically labeled on boats.

      Good luck.

That was the exact same thing that happened to me last weekend. The ground pulled out of the heat shrink. The terminal was not crimped. Mine is an 07 20V also. Maybe everyone with 07 20Vs should check for this.

Maybe the manufacturer who builds the cable Harnesses for Tige had a bad month or two. I have heard o four or more now.
