Any one out know the Teleflex part number and cost for the steering cable on a 2001 21V limited. I looked all over the old one and can't find the Mfg part number.

I have the same boat as you this is what I installed ssc13417.
I also purchased it at boatersland 96.24. If spbfan can get for the same price I would get from him. Great to work with.

Did you do the install yourself? If so, did you run it over or under the tank?

Thankyou,
Ordered it last Friday, Hope to install it this Friday. It's going to be nice to have easy steering again. Just got real tight this spring. How was the install?

For info -
That Teleflex cable no. is for a rack & pinion helm. Looks like Tige changed from a rotary helm in the 2000 21V to a rack & pinion in 2001. Our 2000 21V has a Morse 290 rotary helm. From reading on the Teleflex site the cable lengths would be different. The Teleflex replacement cable no. would be SSC52xx (xx = ft) for the Morse 290 rotary helm. Don't know if the helm change was made midyear, but the dash would have to be reworked to get a rack & pinion under there. Does anyone know the cable length for a 2000 21V with a rotary helm? When I talked to a Teleflex rep last year he said a helm will usually last 2 or maybe 3 cables. The teeth in the helm wear out.
