Speedometer not reading at low speeds.

I noticed on my last trip on the lake, my speedometer is not registering below 10mph. It only kicks in at the higher speeds. As I slow down, the speedometer will suddenly drop to zero...when it goes below 10mph. I believe the speed is accurate above the 10mph rate. I'm basing this on my wake shapes at tow speeds.

I've checked the cover of the paddle wheel...it doesn't appear to be damaged.

Any suggestions on how to fix this? My boat is about 6 months old. Does the paddle wheel need to be lubricated? If so...with what type of lubricant?

    Any suggestions are welcome.

Should be under warranty if it's only 6 months old.
Other than that, Mrs. Lincoln, how was the play?

My first guess would be that the paddle wheel spindle is bent. I think you can actually get that in a kit, but not 100% sure, anyone know for sure?

I'd hate for you to make that long trip to the dealer

How did your heater/dehumidifier thing work out over the winter?

I didn't use a dehumidifier. However, I had the "Extreme Marine" heater in all winter long. I did splice the water lines to my cabin heater core. I drained these lines with a valve after each trip in the winter. This kept my heater core from freezing. The engine block heater worked fine.

So, I never winterized the boat.

Ok, cool, I noticed you had something plugged in.

When we gonna ride next? I'm always up for it I'll even bring my boat now that the ramps are all open

Are you back in the water? I've been hanging out on the north side of Wylie...the water is a little warmer up there.

I haven't gone wake surfing since we went out last year. I've been boarding just about every week. I got a LF PS3 a couple of weeks ago...wow. What a pop!

We went twice in Nov on Norman, once in Dec on Mtn Island, and a couple of weeks ago for the first time in months on Wylie.

Give me a shout if you need a driver, or just want some extra ballast.

Does the speedo read below 10mph on the digital portion of the gauge set?
If it does then your speedo is fine. The sweeping gauge does not read below 10mph but the digital portion will. If the digital does not read below 10mph then you have a paddle wheel issue.

Talked to him last week, he's roll'n good now. New lift = broken wheel.

Forgot to post the solution/root cause.

My boat lift, crushed the paddle wheel....it would be REALLY cool for Tige to come up with a paddle wheel cover that can handle being put on a boat lift. Ok...I know everyone's response...don't do that!

Seriously, can't this be made of steel or something. This is the second time I busted a paddle wheel on a boat lift bunk.

                      ...my two cents.

BTW: still a happy boat owner

I'd move my lift bunks. That's what I had to do.
