I'm looking this afternoon at a 2100v with m350 merc. Any guesses as to the weight, dry & wet?

I bought a Nissan Titan to tow the boat, but now I'm having second thoughts. My truck seats 5, but we plan to take friends out to go boating with us.

boats.com says it weighs 4050 dry. How much weight should I count on for the trailer, a full load of fuel, and ski toys?

What's the tow vehicle of choice with seating for 7+ people?

Armada? Sequoia? Tahoe? Expedition?

It's actually closer to 3500 lbs. Check out the model specs on the top of this page and find the right year number.

Any of the vehicles listed will do just fine. When I first bought mine, I was towing with a Dodge Dakota Quad Cab.

If you're going to have that many people out, I'd think about having them come in a separate vehicle and then you pick them up. It's a lot less stressful launching and retrieving when you have a couple of people who know what they are doing. That's mostly what we do. My tow vehicle is an '04 F-150 Supercrew.

If you've got a V8 in that bad boy you should be fine...

For whatever it's worth, I'm buying an Armada in the next few weeks to pull my 20V.

Your truck will be more than adequate. Drive seperate...then you only have the boat to clean by yourself instead of a boat and a truck!!! Not only that but you'll waste SOOO much time waiting for everybody to get ready and go. Better to get youself and family to the lake and play, then when your guests are late (and they always are) you won't be stressed out by it and everybody will still enjoy themselves.

I have a 01 2100 V Limited, it does weight right around 3400. I pull it with a Yukon Denali XL.
I think you will be fine with Titan, I agree with the others make your guest drive seprate, I can seat seven with our an issue but I make the drive seprate. They always come late and then some will want to leave before your ready. They drive seprate, that means no stress and or issue.

If I were buying anything with a Hemi I would look at 2006 and newer which is when they started using cylinder deactivation to improve mileage. I only get 13 mpg normal driving, only 8-9 mpg towing.

You will never see a cylinder shut down while towing, so no fuel mileage improvements there. Kinda like the Hybrid pickups, they will always be running on the gas while towing. Even with a small/light load, it will be off the gas very little. Not sure the added cost of the Hybrid trucks would ever pay for it's self.

If it has the v8, you should be fine, just make sure it has enough braking power. Not enough brake power will make you pucker during an emergency stop. Check out your trailer brakes as well, they will make a huge difference.

I pull my boat w/ a 2 wheel drive Tundra. I have no problems at all. It may drag a bit going up big long hills but it tows fine. The back of the truclk is always loaded w/ clothes and toys. Go for it. Enjoy the water.

We tow ours with a yukon.Rides excellent.I agree though make your guest drive seperate in case they want to leave or any other reason. You keep more friends this way

Good point. The fuel savings would be during every day driving (not towing). I feed mine $50 per week just to go back and forth to work. That adds up

We have a 2003 Expedition that seats 7 and has dual zone heat and air. We only tow four to 5 people and up to 3 Labs and 2 other dogs. Towing about 5800lbs wet we get 11-13 mpg in IL, MO, and AR towing. If we go to Wisconsin it drops to 8-9 mpg because of heavy traffic. It rides smoothly and does not have the rear end hop our 4x4 Durango had. This vehicle replaced the Durango. The Expedition has the 5.4 with towing option and handles the load real well. What impressed me most on two occasions I had blowouts on a single axle trailer and the Expedition keep pulling straight. No more single axles for me now.

For short weekends up to lakes in Indianna and Wisconsin we takw our Jeep Grand Cherokee. With 4x4 and the 4.7 235HP V8 it does very well with a Maristar 230 but it's people capacity is very limited.

We have a 05' f-250 diesel, crew cab, it seats six and will tow anything. It also has a cool transmission brake that works like a big rig "JAKE BRAKE". We have no troubles or complaints towing with it.
