Are the Seams as Bad on the Newer Tiges

One of the subjects I have seen quite a bit is the issue of seams busting on seats and such on various Tiges. For some people Tige has been good and replaced the uphosterly numerous times.

When I asked the Midwest Rep he did indicate they did have issues and they where addressed in 2007 and later boats for what that is worth. I have a 2007 so I should be okay but I don't know Tige's official position pre 2007.

i have not seen any issues on the 07's we have out there . it was really more an 03 04 thing with the way the seat was designed. my 03 has the seams tearing. i think mine was more of a previous owner not treating them with 303 or simular product to help keep them soft. they are still holding so i have not redone them as of yet. i can still use them.

That is good to here. I agree I didn't see any post about 07's but that is the first year they said they re-designed.

Nearly 200 hrs on our 06 and no seam or upholstery issues related to craftsmanship. I did have the engine cover reskinned last Feb because of a hole caused by a screw in the engine cover latch was too long. The only other thing is it takes so much more work to keep clean as compared to prev boats, but keep in mind we do use is 5x more then the last.

And yes, the 07's did get new vinyl and I think it is sweet

Thanks for your input. I was concerned about the seams because I saw multiple references to seam problems.

Do you work for a Tige dealer or are you just buddies with a some?

Other than reading all the posts you do it sounds like a sweet deal with the rep and the dealer. On the Wet Sound P60's I was quoted $800 for the speaks and up to $400 to install. I knda told them where to put it. Kinda of same thing with self rachteting tie downs. $92 for the tie downs and $72 to bolt up probably 8 bolts. What a rip. They must think I am senile at $50.

I have an 2005 22i. I can honestly say the only thing about my Tige that I am not totally happy about is my Upholstery!

Seems are splitting, fit & finish is fair at best.

I've had it at the dealer 3 times to have them remedy it and they made an attempt at it but still FAIR!

My dealer has been really good at committing to make it right but it's getting old driving an hour & a half each way for them to send it out to their people and days later get it back only to see another unsatisfactory job.

So I will have it back to the dealer soon and have another go at it.

So far I have not been able to get my point accross to Tige and my dealer that I am one of the most addicted Tige' Freaks and I brag, swear and profess this boat is the best to everyone that will listen, only to have to make excuses that the shoddy upholstery will get fixed???...

                  Can you tell I'm frustrated?

Yep I can tell your frustrated about as much as I am about the towing capacity of the pylon and the damn tower. Heck I cannot even get my dealer to get a trailer built for me that will allow me to get the boat in the garage......That has been going on since late November early December. Not Tiges fault.

What I would do is find out who the Tige Sales Rep is for the territory you are in and tell them your story including your frustration and what can he get done for you. I would tell thr rep it is your undestanding that they addressed it for the 2007 models and can they apply the change in your boat because you are a serious Tige advocate. Can't hurt and they might jump on issue for you.

Same with my 05. No upholstory issues unless you count the one I did. I did like the upholstery and seat design better in my 02 better though. I liked having the 2 piece bow seat with the smaller opening. Had it in 02, not on the 05 and then it came back on the VE.
                        Let it be!!!

That is good to hear. others report issues but I am glad to see people that don't have issues. It raises my confidence in the new 07 20V I bought in late November that has not been in the water yet other than at Tige.

                          Thanks for the Info,

I'm still considering a 2004 with only 80 hours on it. After carefully looking over the seams, I only found one seam that was coming undone and it appears to be caused by someone constantly stepping on that area.

You guys are making me nervous though. Anyone else have an 04 22V?

Ditto here. My 05 has no issues either.
