When I bought my 07 20V the issue of seams was raised bby me and I was rold that they "no longer" have that issue.

What I am betting is they asked Four Winns for their advice because bow cushions and rear benches constantly pulled thru. Mine were replaced by Four Winns on Warrantee three times and all three versions split. We never stepped directly on the vinyl but instead on a throw cushion. It slowed the issue down but it still kept occuring. When I got rid of it it had semi fresh cushions.

On my 20V I intend on exersising the cushions while in first year of warrantee. If I see the slightest seam problem Tige gets to fix while on warrantee.

Now Back to the Maristar. After 6 years it started to show seam problems. Not as bad as Four Winns but there never the less. And this boat rarely saw shoes on the vinyl. Just from the 72 yo grandparents.

Keep in mind that the warrantY on the stitching is only one year.

        The boat has the following:

Tandum Axle Trailer, Mercruiser 350 MAG MPI, TAPS, Perfect Pass, tower, bimini top, board racks, custom cover, bow filler cushion, vinyl walk-thru windscreen, Premium Sound System w/ CD player and six speakers, stainless steel rubrail, gear included (anchor, vests, dock lines, etc.), one owner and always stored indoors, low hours, engine warranty until 2/13/2009!

I'm supposed to take it out tomorrow. I know it'd the middle of the winter but I live in Texas and it's supposed to be 75 degrees tomorrow.

i imagine you are talking about the one in austin at the ski dock. if so that boat doesnt have perfect pass. but you can add that for about 1500 bucks i think and other than that it looks pretty good. i was actually considering this boat about a month ago.

        Go for it !!!!!!

IF the fit/finish and vinyl quality are not as good as the others, I could replace the interior 3x over the same life span with the money saved.
I am hoping that the fit and finish of the vinyl seams on m 2007 20V is better than earlier models or I will be really dissapointed.

I had a seam problem on my Four Winns where the bow cushions and the back bench all had their seams pull through the vinyl. Four Winns replaced them once when out of warranty but it did it again and unbelievably Four Winns replaced them again 2 years later. They made me supply the labor but that was well worth it.

The question this raises in my mind since it seems Tige will only fix them once and has any one seen the problem on an 06 or newer and what has Tige said about the issue.

We had a 98 4/Winns that we sold (3/06) to get the Tige. One seam on the sun pad was pulling apart and that was it. The vinyl was awesome, it was actually easier to keep clean then the Tige.

Wow it seems like a bunch of us had Four Winns. That is uncanny. In the 13+ years I had that boat the sunpad never split. The gas shocks went bad and the rear hinges broke but for 13+ years of getting use and abuse something had to give.

The owners manual found at tige.com under "downloads" states 3yr bow-to-stern warranty= 1st yr - parts and labor, yr 2 &3 - parts only. Additional warranty coverage= Items such as carpet, upholstery, gauges, and the likes may have additional warranty coverage beyond the Three Year Bow-to-Stern Warranty due to warranties from the original manufacturer of those items.

I would definitely own another 4/Winns, great boats IMO.

The 23 foot and larger ones are nice but the shorter ones strike me as dressed up Bayliners. The have cheapened them up in the 17ft to 20ft ranges.

Well have not looked real close since we got the Tige, but our 180 horizon was top notch......snap-out Berber, thick, soft vinyl, no wood, tilt wheel, matching Trailer (ok, not 4Winns), great storage, sport seating (bench seating), duel captains chairs.

There was a note in my owners packet stating the seam warranty was only 1 year. The captains seat and the bow are fine, but all the other seats have splitting seams, even the seat over the cooler that never gets stepped on, ever. IMO it's just a bad design and from what I've seen it's fixed on the newer models.

Your are correct, even my 06 is 1 yr also I think, but this is off the website which is for the 08's (07's were 3 yrs I think to)

You know, now that I think about it, I seem to recall my dealer telling me that this past summer. Good going, Tigé!

Yeah, actually it is the one over at Ski Dock. They've got several over there right now. I've already looked into getting the perfect pass installed, which is why I mentioned that it had it as an option.

Thanks for all the suggestions everyone. The boat is in great shape and still has a warranty. I carefully inspected the vinyl and didn't see any problems but I'll be sure to monitor. That makes me nervous but not enough to stray me back to a boat that cost 15 to 20K more.

Just keep an eye on it, and you'll be ok. Also, it helps to clean your vinyl with fantastic, and keep putting 303 aerospace protectant on it. This will keep the vinyl from hardening.
