Is the limitation because of the Pylon size? Is bigger better?
If it can only pull a single slalom sker, can it pull multiple two skiers and knee boarders?
How many hydrofoilers(Airchairs,Ski Skys) can it pull. I think this is a function of the tower so with the Tige E tower can it pull at least two?

No where in the series of post has this person implied he wanted his money back and that dealers offered him suggestions except the one he bought the boat from.
Clearly he was looking for answers and clarifications that not only did he see as a aggravating limitaion but so did other user who worked around the issues using the lift eyes. For reason he explained and should not have ranted on his issue were validated by numerous other board members.
My family has enjoyed for many years on our I/O based boats and now with some of our inboards to double and triple up to have a little fun sprayin each other and teaching the younger ones how to start a cut and slow down a turn. We also like to tube together and with the kids growing up ans soon to be out of the house doing those things are important now and when they start their families. We really enjoy going for a ten mile run on Bullshoals or Tablerock and I don't want to loose the ability to all get up three slalomers at once.
Normaly tube wars with two-three tubes or 2 airchairs are used a lot. We are not into wakeboards yet. Thats for the younger generation to learn. As to the Pylon issue I am just torked off. It is not worth gettin into again. When my trailer is finally done( it is too long and too high to make it in my garage, and I live in a neighborhoood where no Rec vehicles allowed on drive or yard) I will look at the Pylon personally and see if the head tech and I can figure a way to strenghten it and we'll go from there. End of subject. I like the Tige for its price point and features vs the big three and can't wait to get up on it and get my daughters up. The following is my 20V but it will have a black with white pinstripe trailer.Originally posted by kko View PostFIC boat is an 04 and i am telling you that that ski pole is mounted WAY different than a newer V drive. the new V drives are through the deck as in the previous pic there is a piece of alum. plate on the underside adds strength. your boat will perform all the watersports you like you may just have to do it a little different than you have in the past. so quiturbitchin and have fun!! congrats on the new boat. your gonna luv it!! post up some pics when you get it. what is the reason for double slalom pull just curious? all kidding aside you will be happy with your new boat.Originally posted by MRMoffat1 View Postchpthril: Were those radial hairline cracks I see in the picture? Gelcoat depth only maybe?
I towed with pylon up to two tubes in '06. Went to rear eye hooks in '07 after reading about the subject on this forum. Pain though. I might go back to pylon for 1 or 2 tubes in '08. Nobody has had any actual problems, just fears so far, right?Originally posted by dogbert View PostI think you can tow more than 1 skier. As for tubes, that's different. I tow 2 O'Brien Superscreamers from my pylon. It's a 3 person tube. Sometimes the kids submerge both of them and we've had the tow rope snap the last time. That's a lot of force. So, I started towing from the lift rings.
I think you'll find that your 20V still makes a better towboat than your old boat.
Anyways, I was just trying to help.Originally posted by FIC View PostTessa if you review my other thread with the video of my 20i I gave you some info of how I use my v and we teach alot of skiing you wont find a stronger boat then a tige. The boat in the video is a 20 switch i but at home on my lake we practice and teach behind a v drive, also if you do a lot of teaching you might consider what we use which is a barefoot international boom which mounts to the tower and works quite well.Originally posted by tessa View PostI talked with the senior Tech at my dealer and he stated I will be able to do what I want without liftinghooks.
I also put a message directly to Tige who answered thru my salesman and Tige states that they have not had a pylon break on older or newer designs. Not one pylon issue so he said do what you used to do and have fun it will take the load. No one seems to know where 300 lbs came from.
Since I am technical by nature I have asked for it in writing but I will keep my emails re: this.Originally posted by chpthril View PostActually it was Dogbert that suggested the lift rings, which is not a bad idea for tubes, but I am one of the few that is not skeeerd to pull tubes from the pylon.
Hope your mind is at rest and cant wait so see that boat wet.
Just remember, we are always here to help...............or just give smart@$$ answersOriginally posted by tessa View PostWell had a followup conversation with my salesman yesterday and Tige corporate will not document for all it is worth.
12/14/07 The comment above was just a statement of fact. Tige was kind enough to tell me why they would not document. Now I may be a grumpy old man but I don't see a Rant in the comment above. It was just a message meant to update status. IMO Tige has valid reasons not to doc so I am ok with their decision. Have a nice dayOriginally posted by tessa View PostI don't know where that came from. Tige said they never had a pylon failure and did not expect one with the new design so I asked if they would doc that they would fix just in case. My comment was not a rant at Tige I have been happy with their responses and call backs to me. I wasn't worried about the warranty period but further down the road. Sue me for the concern.
Before my case was jumped on I was going to post that I had a very pleasent conversation with a VP from Tige and I was pleased with his answers and explanation of the issue and that he calmed my concerns re: the pylons 300lbs strength rating and that of the towers. We talked about other issues but I am going to keep silent re:them because I surely don't need your comments jumping down my case if you don't like my comment.
Tige and my dealer seem like top of the line organizations to work with and kudoos to Tige and the personal followup of the VP.Originally posted by anhaney View PostMy misunderstanding It seemed as though you were saying they would not document they have issues with the pylon. My bad. Sorry I was in a PMS mode at the time I responded. I just don't want this site to end up like the guys on some other sites (I will not mention them) and start to pound on boat manufactures. It is all good I did not want you to feel like I was jumping on your case I just did not want this to become a negative thread.
As for reinforcing the fiberglass.. do keep in mind that manufacturers could likely make a near perfect boat, and could easily reinforce it more. However, they keep costs in mind when designing the boats. Many people think engineers are paid to design the best product, and that's rarely the case. In nearly all cases, they are paid to build the best product they can within a certain budget.

[QUOTE=Bultaco;133334]Originally posted by Engloid View PostIt is not reccomended to pull anything more than one skier or wakeboarder... anything else voids the warranty. That means no tubes, no kite surfing, not two skiers, etc. Should you have a tower fail after doing one of these things, my advice is to be honest, suck it up a bit, admit to it, and ask the manufacturer to HELP you out as much as possible. They have the right to refuse any help at all, but as they say, you get more bees with honey.

I thought this highly entertaining post bounding with camaraderie and education was closed?
Not that I care all that much but how did it get re-opened?
