    Tower light installation

I have 2007 22ve with factory tower and lights. The lights are mounted on the rear cross beam, the one carrying the navigation light and top point. They work great rear wards but forward the hit either the front horizontal support or shine off the bow if lowered. Absolutely useless. I noted one of the screen savers has a 22ve where the lights are mounted on the front horizontal strut.

Has any one got a 22ve with factory tower and lights. If so were are the mounted?

IMO, the lights seem to be a bigger problem then they are worth when using them. Good luck with them and let us know how you like them.

    Sorry, no help.

in iowa it is illegal to board with these, but doesn't say anything about just driving with them on. Just wonder, how does it work in your state?

Most states, I bet, it is illegal to board after dark. As far as the lights, In NC, SC and GA I know you would get a ticket running at night with them because it would wash out the green/red nav light and any approaching boat would think that the tower lights were the 360* white light and think you were anchored.

It's a pretty hefty fine here to board after dark.

They don't seem to ticket people here for running with their docking lights on. It just annoys the rest of us who are trying to see.

            My biggest pet peeve.

To all that have docking lights, THEY ARE NOT HEADLIGHTS!!! Nor do they even work like headlights.

              ...unless you're docking!

thats what I carry a 1,000,000 candle power spotlight for... to shine on these jackasses that insist on blinding everyone on the lake.

However, it WOULD be interesting to have some sort of high intensity beams coming from under the water line. It'd be a real bitch to keep sealed though.

Yup I carry one of those as well, it comes in handy even when were not on the water.

That would be cool there is one on the back though.. but on the bow it might be difficult with the shape of the hull.
